Special topics in literature.
This course examines world literature and film through the perspective of critical disability studies. Although the emphasis is on the French-speaking world, the course is taught in English. Also FREN 302. Letter grade only. Not challengeable.
Students will study major works of Francophone Caribbean authors and filmmakers, literary and cultural theory, and apply key concepts to cultural works in analyzing them in class discussions, research papers, and oral presentations.
